Box canyon beauty with serious send energy
Box canyon walls, the free gondola to Mountain Village, hike-to terrain off Palmyra Peak. Dinner at La Marmotte or Allred's at the gondola summit, a quiet pour at the New Sheridan Bar where Butch Cassidy drank, late beers at the Last Dollar Saloon. Fly into Montrose, drive 65 miles in. Best in March for spring conditions or September when the aspens turn — book lodging six months out.
