What's the snow situation in December vs. February?
December can be variable; January through March is peak season with consistent base and frequent storms. Plan for 200+ inches annually.
Do we need to be expert skiers?
Al's Run and West Basin are advanced terrain; the valley has intermediate runs, but this trip is built for strong skiers. Taos doesn't coddle.
How far is town from the mountain?
Taos town is 18 miles south; plan 25 minutes drive. Most crews base at the Bavarian and shuttle down for dinner.
