K2 Aviation flies the crew over Denali (NPS-approved, family-run since 1968) — the Grand Tour with a glacier landing on the Ruth Amphitheater is the move. Same-afternoon Susitna jet-boat king salmon charter; the river runs hot late June through July. Sleep at the Talkeetna Roadhouse (1917 historic, real bunk-bed lodging) or for the apex play, Sheldon Chalet on Mt. Denali (no — that's helicopter-only and a different trip). Dinner at the Roadhouse for the homemade pies and the best dive-bar bachelor energy in Alaska. Fairview Inn next door — the bar where President Harding drank in 1923 and the bartender claims hasn't been wiped since. Anchorage (ANC) is the gateway, 2.5 hours by car or 1 hour by Alaska Railroad.
