Sleep at the Lora Hotel (boutique conversion of the Joseph Wolf Brewery, 40 rooms with the brewing-plant aesthetic intact). Day-one Lift Bridge Brewery taproom + a paddleboat dinner cruise (St. Croix Boat & Packet Co., 1.5 hours up to Hudson WI and back). Day two: a Brookside Bar & Grill (the supper club move — relish tray, chicken-fried steak, brandy old fashioneds), the Marine on St. Croix general store, Afton State Park bluff trails. Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) is 30 minutes.

St. Croix Boat & Packet runs cruises May through October. Friday-Sunday evening dinner cruises are $80-110/person with a four-course meal.
Marx Wine Bar — still open?
Closed February 2026. Use The Velveteen Speakeasy at the Lora or Brookside Bar & Grill instead — both are stronger picks anyway.
Brandy Old Fashioned — Wisconsin or Minnesota?
Wisconsin's signature, but Stillwater is on the border and the supper clubs serve them properly. Korbel brandy + 7-Up is the local recipe.
