Reno Sand Mountain + Truckee River + Casino Weekend — Reno, NV

Sand Mountain Recreation Area (BLM, 60 miles east of Fallon) — a 600-foot single dune that hums when the wind blows. UTV and sandboard rentals via Reno-area outfitters. Day-two Truckee River whitewater (Class II-III, Sierra Adventures runs the half-day from $89). Day three is downtown Reno: Eldorado-Silver Legacy-Circus Circus block (all connected by skyway), the Truckee River Whitewater Park practice rapids in the middle of downtown, and the casinos for the bachelor's last legal late-night. Sleep at the Eldorado or Atlantis. Reno-Tahoe (RNO) is direct from most western hubs.

Sand Mountain access?
BLM-managed, 60 miles east of Fallon. $50/year permit or $25/week. UTVs rent in Fernley or Fallon (Sand Mountain Recreation Inc. or local outfitters).
Truckee River safe?
Class II-III through downtown, Class III in Sierra. Sierra Adventures runs guided half-days from $89/person. Wetsuit included; spring water temps are 50°F.
Reno casinos vs Vegas?
Smaller, cheaper, less aggressive. The Eldorado-Silver Legacy-Circus Circus skyway block is the comparable density. Single-deck blackjack still exists at the Peppermill.
