Taylor's Port cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia (1692, 3,500 oak casks aging port, the audio tour walks the cellar floor, tasting flights at the end). Sleep at the Yeatman Hotel (overlooking the cellars from the south bank, rooftop infinity pool) or Memmo Alfandega (Ribeira riverfront). Francesinha sandwich at Café Majestic. Douro Valley day cost?
$120-200/person for the full-day tour with private van + 2 winery visits + lunch at a Quinta. Multiple operators run the route. Spring-fall best (vineyard scenery).
Yeatman vs Memmo?
Yeatman is the apex (south bank, cellar views, rooftop pool, Forbes 5-star feel). Memmo Alfandega is the boutique riverfront (north bank, walkable Ribeira, design-forward). Yeatman for the apex; Memmo for the walkable bachelor.
