Questions

Are both studios still working?
FAME is still active — bands record there year-round, but tours run between sessions. Muscle Shoals Sound is a museum/studio hybrid; both run hourly tours.
Can you see the Wilson Dam?
Yes — TVA runs free guided tours of the Wilson Lock & Dam complex. Engineering tour is 90 minutes; allow extra for the Tennessee River vista.
Best month?
March-April or October-November. July-August is Alabama humidity; the Shoals are unpleasant in mid-summer.
