Destination: Aspen, CONights: 3Group: 614Season: December, January, February, March, June, July, August, SeptemberEstimated: $4,200–$6,800/person

1889 silver-boom Aspen original — built by Jerome B. Wheeler (Macy's co-owner), first elevator in town, on the National Register. Auberge Resorts owns it now (heritage preserved, modern amenities layered in). The bachelor's anchor: J-Bar (oldest bar in Aspen, the Aspen Crud cocktail invented during Prohibition — bourbon and ice cream, sounds wrong, drinks right). Day-one Aspen Mountain skiing or summer hiking via the gondola, dinner at Prospect (the hotel's signature). Day two: Snowmass for the longer runs, après at the J-Bar, dinner at the Little Nell or Element 47. Day three: a Maroon Bells trip if summer or a final ski morning. Aspen-Pitkin (ASE) is direct from many hubs; Eagle (EGE) is 90 minutes for the redirect.

Questions

Aspen Crud — is it really old?
Invented at the J-Bar during Prohibition (1920s) — bourbon was illegal, but ice cream was a 'meal,' so the bar served bourbon hidden in milkshakes. The drink became signature; it's still on the menu, $14-18.
Vs the Little Nell?
Little Nell is ski-in/ski-out (gondola-side, the Aspen apex). Hotel Jerome is downtown (3-block walk to gondola). Little Nell wins for ski access; Jerome wins for character + the J-Bar.
Best month for the bachelor?
January (Best snow, lowest crowds before Presidents). March for the Spring Sun. June-September for hiking-anchored summer trips. Avoid the Christmas-NYE peak (3-4x rates).
