The bachelor's signature: offshore tarpon and king mackerel charters out of John's Pass (April-May silver-king run, 90+ pound fish on light tackle). Hotel's spa is the day-two recovery; the Maritana Grille is the chef-driven dinner. Day three: Fort De Soto Park's white-sand beach for the closing morning, the Vinoy Resort St. Petersburg downtown for a final cigar lounge afternoon. Tampa (TPA) is 30 minutes north; St. Pete-Clearwater (PIE) is 15 minutes.

$1,200-2,200 for a half-day boat (4-6 anglers max). John's Pass captains are the Tampa Bay-area silver king specialists. April-May is peak; September-October has bonus shots at giant snook.
Pink palace — really pink?
Yes. Original 1928 paint scheme, restored. Five floors of Florida-pink stucco on the Gulf. The hotel claims it's visible from 10 miles offshore on a clear day; mariners apparently use it as a landmark.
Vinoy Resort vs Don CeSar?
Vinoy is downtown St. Pete (urban, walkable). Don CeSar is St. Pete Beach (beachside, Pleasure Pier-adjacent). The bachelor crew that wants the Gulf bases at the Don; the crew that wants the city walks bases at the Vinoy. Both are Pink Mansion-vintage Florida apex.
