Allagash Moose Hunt — Tylor Kelly Camps, ME

Destination: Allagash, MENights: 4Group: 46Season: September, October, NovemberEstimated: $3,800–$5,500/person

Third-generation Maine outfitter Tylor Kelly runs guided moose hunts out of his renovated Northwoods Lodge on the St. John River — Zone 1 and Zone 2, where the bulls go 900+ pounds. You need a Maine moose lottery permit (apply by May), but TKC handles tags-bought-out spots most years. Wall-tent options if you want it primitive. Decompression: drive south to Portland, eat raw oysters and pour Allagash White at Eventide before the flight home.

Questions

Do I need a tag in hand to book?
Lottery permits are required by law. Outfitters can sometimes secure landowner-permit spots; ask early.
How far from a real airport?
Bangor (BGR) is 4 hours south. Most groups fly Bangor, drive up, decompress in Portland on the way out.
Calling or stand?
TKC works swamps + cuts on foot, with bull-grunting and cow-call sequences. Not a stand hunt.
