Questions

Do we need fly-fishing experience?
No. Gallatin River Guides will teach casting and presentation; most clients are intermediate or learning. Bring a 5-weight rod or rent one locally.
What's the water like in summer?
June-July runs cold (50-55°F) with strong hatches; August-September warms slightly (55-62°F) and gets crowded. Early season is prime for dry flies and solitude.
How many fish do we catch?
Madison browns and rainbows run 12-18 inches; expect 10-20 fish per float day if conditions align. It's about the cast and the river, not the cooler count.
