Home Base

W Aspen

Luxury Resort Hotel

W Aspen is the epicenter of Aspen's après-ski scene with rooftop pool, living room bar, ski concierge, and direct access to nightlife. For an adrenaline crew in February, the hotel's proximity to Aspen Mountain and the built-in social hub beats a rental house — no driving after bottle service, and the W's energy matches Maverick's intensity. Pricing estimated based on luxury resort rates during peak ski season.

$2,200 total (4 nights = $8,800 ÷ 8 = $1,100/person)/night
1

Day 1 — Wheels Down, Powder Up

2:00 PM

Arrive Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE)

Group lands and meets at baggage claim. Arrange one SUV shuttle to W Aspen (10 min drive). Check in by 3:30 PM.

Tip: Text the group 24 hours before with flight times — coordinate arrivals so everyone lands within 1 hour.

4:00 PM

W Aspen Check-In & Welcome Kit

Rooms are ready. Welcome kit waiting in Maverick's suite: Clase Azul Reposado bottle, Element 47 wagyu jerky, fresh powder-day snacks, matching Bogner-inspired crew shirts with 'Terminal Velocity' printed on the back.

Tip: Have the concierge hold the welcome kit in the safe until Maverick arrives — surprise moment when he gets to the room.

5:30 PM

Aspen Mountain Skiing — Full Day (Continuation from earlier departure)

Maverick and crew hit the slopes for a 2-hour warm-up run before sunset. Fresh powder from overnight snow. Bogner suits on full display. This is the appetizer before the heli-ski feast.

Tip: Book a private ski guide for the group ($400 total) — they'll show you the best powder stashes and keep the crew together.

7:30 PM

Dinner: Meat & Cheese Restaurant and Farm Shop

Artisanal charcuterie boards, local meats, and craft cocktails in a rustic downtown space. Order the wagyu board and pair with Clase Azul neat. Casual vibe, no jacket required, but the quality is top-tier.

Tip: Arrive by 7:45 PM — they don't take reservations for groups under 10, so get there early and grab the big table by the fireplace.

9:30 PM

The J-Bar at Hotel Jerome — First Night Out

Historic 1889 bar in the Hotel Jerome. Classic cocktails, low-key après-ski vibe. Order Clase Azul neat or a craft cocktail. This is the chill night — settle in, get acclimated to altitude, no late-night push.

Tip: The J-Bar is 2 blocks from the W — walk over, no Uber needed. Grab a corner booth and let the crew decompress.

2

Day 2 — Backcountry Adrenaline

8:00 AM

Breakfast at the W Aspen

In-room breakfast or the W's restaurant. Fuel up before the dog-sledding run. Eggs, bacon, fresh juice, coffee.

Tip: Order room service the night before — saves 20 minutes and gets everyone fed on time.

9:30 AM

Krabloonik Dog Sledding — Half Day

Helicopter or snowcat transport to the Maroon Creek backcountry. Maverick drives a sled team through pristine snow. Lunch at the on-mountain kennel cabin. This is pure adrenaline — the kind of experience Maverick lives for.

Tip: Wear layers — it's cold at altitude. Bogner base layers are perfect. Bring a GoPro for footage.

2:00 PM

Return to W Aspen & Rest

Back at the hotel by 2 PM. Crew showers, changes, and decompresses. This is a light afternoon — no forced activities. Pool time, hot tub, or nap.

Tip: Have the concierge arrange a light snack spread in the living room lounge — sandwiches, fruit, electrolytes.

6:00 PM

Dinner: Matsuhisa Aspen

Nobu Matsuhisa's original mountain outpost. World-class sushi and omakase. This is the night before the big heli-ski day — fuel up with premium protein. Order the wagyu nigiri and sake pairings.

Tip: Book the omakase counter for 8 people — Nobu's chefs will customize the menu. Reserve 3 weeks ahead.

8:30 PM

Bootsy Bellows Aspen — Bottle Service Night

Celebrity-magnet nightclub with bottle service and A-list energy. VIP table for 8, bottle of Clase Azul, mixers, and bottle of premium vodka. Dress code: upscale (no athletic wear). This is THE big night — peak energy before heli-ski day.

Tip: Arrive by 9:15 PM — tables fill fast. Tip the host $100 cash for the best spot. Plan to stay until midnight — early night before the 6 AM heli-ski call.

3

Day 3 — Terminal Velocity

5:30 AM

Wake-Up & Breakfast

Early rise for the heli-ski charter. Room service breakfast delivered at 5:45 AM — eggs, toast, coffee, electrolytes. Maverick needs fuel for the biggest day of the trip.

Tip: Set alarms for 5:15 AM. Have the concierge do a wake-up call at 5:20 AM as backup.

6:30 AM

Heli-Ski Private Charter — Full Day

The signature experience. Private helicopter transport to the Maroon Bells backcountry. 6–8 runs of untracked powder with a professional guide, photographer, and the crew. Lunch on the mountain. This is Maverick's stated obsession — private heli-ski ops in world-class powder. February conditions are pristine.

Tip: Wear your Bogner powder suit. Bring a backup battery for your GoPro — the footage from today is legendary. The photographer will capture everything.

4:00 PM

Return to W Aspen & Recovery

Back at the hotel by 4 PM. Crew is exhausted but euphoric. Showers, stretching, and immediate rest. This is a quiet evening — no big plans. Light dinner at the hotel.

Tip: Have the spa on standby for 5 PM massages if anyone needs it. Order room service — nobody's leaving the hotel tonight.

6:30 PM

Dinner: In-Room Catering at W Aspen

Private chef brings a light, high-protein meal to the living room lounge. Grilled salmon, roasted vegetables, fresh bread. Crew eats together, watches heli-ski footage, and winds down early.

Tip: Order this the day before. Request the chef to plate it family-style so the crew can share and relax.

9:00 PM

Early Night — Prep for Final Day

Crew is spent from heli-ski. Most guys are in bed by 10 PM. This is intentional — recovery before the final big night tomorrow.

Tip: No alcohol tonight. Hydrate hard. The best man should text the group: 'Rest up — tomorrow is the roast and the final send-off.'

4

Day 4 — Recovery, Roast & Reckoning

10:00 AM

Recovery Brunch at Ajax Tavern

Slopeside patio at the base of Aspen Mountain. Truffle fries, eggs benedict, bloody marys with fresh horseradish. Crew recovers from heli-ski day while soaking in mountain views. This is the crew's reset moment.

Tip: Book a table for 8 by 9:30 AM. Sit outside if weather permits — the views are unbeatable.

12:30 PM

The Limelight Hotel Spa — Deep Recovery

Post-heli-ski massage and hot tub session. 60-minute deep tissue massage for each crew member, followed by steam room and heated outdoor hot tub. Maverick's muscles will thank him before the final night.

Tip: Book massages in advance. Schedule them back-to-back so the crew can relax together in the hot tub afterward.

3:00 PM

W Aspen Rooftop Pool Party — Heated Pool & DJ

Heated rooftop pool with mountain views and a DJ spinning Zac Brown Band, Kings of Leon, and Post Malone (Maverick's favorite artists). This is the pool-party moment — crew in swim trunks, cold beers, warm water, and pre-game energy building.

Tip: Request the DJ to play 'Chicken Fried' by Zac Brown Band and 'Sex on Fire' by Kings of Leon — Maverick's go-to tracks. Tip the DJ $50.

5:30 PM

Dinner: Bosq — Tasting Menu

Seasonal tasting menu with foraged ingredients. Aspen's culinary crown jewel. This is the final group dinner — refined, memorable, and a step above the rest. Pair with wine or Clase Azul neat.

Tip: Book the chef's table 4 weeks ahead. Request a menu that features wagyu — Maverick's stated obsession. Ask the chef to do a special course in his honor.

7:45 PM

Return to W Aspen — Prep for the Roast

Crew returns to the hotel. Showers, fresh clothes, and final drinks in the living room lounge. This is the calm before the roast.

Tip: Have the best man gather everyone 15 minutes early to brief the roast structure and remind guys of their talking points.

8:30 PM

THE ROAST — Honoring Moment

In the W Aspen's private living room lounge with a fireplace and full bar. Best man opens with a joke about Maverick's obsession with heli-ski ops and Bogner suits ('Maverick spends more on powder suits than most guys spend on cars'). Then: one outlandish-but-true story (the time Maverick drove a sports car off-road in Moab, or his Michelin-tasting-menu obsession that led him to book a table 6 months in advance). Finally: sincere tribute about his friendship, his loyalty, and what marriage means for him. Each groomsman adds 90 seconds of roast or tribute. Finish with a group toast to Maverick.

Tip: Text the crew 48 hours ahead asking them to pre-think their memory or roast line. Have a backup mic in case the room audio is weak. Record the roast on video — Maverick will want to relive this.

9:45 PM

Private Poker Night — High Stakes

Transition from roast to poker tournament in the W's living room. $50 buy-in, winner takes the pot. Whiskey, cigars, and cards. Maverick's competitive side comes out — this is the final crew moment before the last big night.

Tip: Have the concierge set up the table with chips, cards, and a cigar selection. Clase Azul and premium whiskey on the side.

11:30 PM

Bootsy Bellows Aspen — Final Night Bottle Service

Back to Bootsy Bellows for the final big night. VIP table, bottle of Clase Azul, premium vodka, mixers. This is the victory lap — the crew is bonded, Maverick has been roasted and honored, and now it's pure celebration. Stay until 2 AM.

Tip: Arrive by 11:45 PM. The same host from Day 2 will remember you — tip $100 again for the best table. Plan for a party bus pickup at 1:45 AM to get everyone back safely.

5

Day 5 — Departure & Debrief

10:00 AM

Recovery Brunch at White House Tavern

Elevated comfort food in a historic Victorian house. Truffle grilled cheese, eggs, fresh juice. This is the final crew meal — casual, delicious, and a proper goodbye.

Tip: Book a table for 8 by 9:30 AM. Sit in the main dining room for the best vibe.

11:30 AM

W Aspen Check-Out & Goodbyes

Crew checks out by noon. Settle any incidental charges. Exchange contact info and take a final group photo in the W's lobby.

Tip: The best man should collect any remaining group funds and settle the final Venmo round before people leave.

12:30 PM

Arrange Rides to Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE)

One SUV shuttle for the group (10 min drive). Flights should be booked for 3 PM or later to avoid rushing checkout.

Tip: Book the shuttle the day before. Have the concierge arrange it — they'll coordinate pickup times based on flight schedules.

The Bars

Bootsy Bellows Aspen

Celebrity nightclub with bottle service and A-list energy

Historic 1889 bar in the Hotel Jerome. Classic cocktails, low-key après-ski vibe. Order Clase Azul neat or a craft cocktail. Perfect for the chill first night.

Silver City Saloon

39 Degrees (Sky Hotel)

Rooftop lounge at the Sky Hotel with a heated pool, DJs, and mountain views. This is a backup option for a chill evening — but the W Aspen's rooftop pool is better integrated into your hotel stay.

Trip Terms

The best man always ends up fronting thousands and chasing Venmos for six weeks. This block kills that. Drop it in the group chat before anyone books — what’s covered, what’s on each guy, who pays when.

Per person
$3,850
Maverick's share is absorbed by the other 7 payers. The total trip cost is approximately $30,800 (8 people × $3,850). Since Maverick is covered, the 7 payers split the full cost: $30,800 ÷ 7 = $4,400 per payer (instead of $3,850). This adds approximately $550 per person to cover Maverick's share. The per-person total of $3,850 listed above is what Maverick would pay if he were splitting equally — but since he's covered, the other 7 guys each pay $4,400.

Bachelor weekend lockdown — we're rolling to Aspen Feb 14–18 for Maverick. This is THE trip. Heli-ski private charter, Bogner powder suits, Matsuhisa omakase, and two nights of bottle service at Bootsy Bellows. Total per head: $3,850 (Maverick's covered by us — he's the groom). Flights on you, personal bar tabs on you, everything else locked in. First payment of $1,200 lands in my Venmo by [DATE] — that locks the house and the heli-ski charter. Reply 'in' if you're committed. This is Terminal Velocity. Let's send Maverick off right.

Made For Him

The personalization most playbooks skip — his hobbies, the inside jokes, his bourbon, his playlist. This is what moves a plan from good to legendary.

Tied to his interests

  • Krabloonik Dog Sledding (Day 2) — Maverick's adrenaline obsession demands backcountry experiences. Dog sledding through Maroon Creek delivers the rush he craves.
  • Heli-Ski Private Charter (Day 3) — This is THE signature experience for Maverick. Private heli-ski ops in untracked powder are his stated obsession — a full day in the Maroon Bells backcountry is the centerpiece of the trip.
  • Bogner Powder Suits — Maverick's obsession with premium ski gear means the crew should match his energy. High-end outerwear is non-negotiable for the photos.
  • Matsuhisa Aspen Omakase (Day 2 dinner) — Maverick's Michelin-tasting-menu obsession gets honored with Nobu's world-class sushi. Request a wagyu-focused menu in his honor.

Inside-joke touches

  • Print 'Terminal Velocity' on the matching crew shirts (waiting in the welcome kit). Maverick's adrenaline personality is the trip's DNA.
  • During the roast, open with a joke about Maverick's obsession with heli-ski ops and Bogner suits — 'Maverick spends more on powder suits than most guys spend on cars.'
  • Name the group text 'Terminal Velocity: Maverick's Last Run' — use this for all trip coordination and post-trip photo sharing.
  • At the poker table (Day 4), have the best man announce: 'Maverick's final hand before the ring — let's see if he's as lucky in marriage as he is at the tables.'

Playlist seed

Zac Brown Band ('Chicken Fried', 'Toes'), Kings of Leon ('Sex on Fire', 'Use Somebody'), Post Malone ('Congratulations', 'White Iverson'), plus classic après-ski tracks like 'Après Ski' by Apres Ski and 'Mountain Music' by Alabama. Request the rooftop pool DJ to play these on Day 4 afternoon.

The Moment

Every bachelor weekend has the moment — the roast, the slideshow, the toast, the private war room. Here’s where and when to do it, and how to tee it up so it actually lands.

Day 4roast8:30 PM, after dinner at Bosq and before the poker tournament

W Aspen's private living room lounge (fireplace, full bar, relative privacy from the main hotel traffic)

Best man opens with a joke about Maverick's obsession with heli-ski ops and Bogner suits ('Maverick spends more on powder suits than most guys spend on cars'). Then: one outlandish-but-true story — the time he drove a sports car off-road in Moab, or his Michelin-tasting-menu obsession that led him to book a table 6 months in advance, or his relentless pursuit of the perfect powder day. Finally: sincere tribute about his friendship, his loyalty, his competitive spirit, and what marriage means for him. Each groomsman adds 90 seconds of roast or tribute. Finish with a group toast to Maverick and his fiancée.

Pro tip: Text the crew 48 hours ahead asking them to pre-think their memory or roast line. Have a backup mic in case the room audio is weak. Record the roast on video — Maverick will want to relive this moment forever.

Welcome Kit

The “best man nailed it” signal. A bag that’s already waiting in the rental when the crew walks in — hangover kit, branded koozies, his favorite snacks, a couple inside jokes. Small effort, massive return.

Essentials

  • Two bottles of Liquid IV or Pedialyte (altitude sickness prevention — critical at 8,000 ft)
  • Advil and Tums (for hangovers and altitude adjustment)
  • Sunscreen SPF 50+ and lip balm with SPF (altitude sun is intense)
  • Gatorade and electrolyte packets (hydration is everything in Aspen)
  • Snack pack: Element 47 wagyu jerky (Maverick's food obsession), mixed nuts, dark chocolate

Personalized

  • Bottle of Clase Azul Reposado in the mini-bar (Maverick's go-to drink — waiting when he arrives)
  • Element 47 wagyu jerky (his stated food obsession — premium beef snack)
  • Vinyl of Kings of Leon's 'Because of the Times' album (one of his favorite artists — for the hotel room)
  • Bogner-inspired crew t-shirts with 'Terminal Velocity' printed on the back (matching gear for the group)
  • GoPro battery pack and SD card (for heli-ski footage — the photos are legendary)

Nice-to-have

  • Matching koozies with 'Terminal Velocity: Maverick' printed on them (for the pool party and bar crawl)
  • Disposable camera for the crew to pass around (candid moments, no phones)
  • Hand-written note from each groomsman (delivered to Maverick's room on Day 1 — personal touch before the roast)
  • Custom poker chips with Maverick's initials (for the poker night on Day 4)

Recovery Day

Overpacking the final day is one of the most cited regrets in bachelor-party post-mortems. This is the slow-roll by design — recovery brunch, one light move, airport runs. Nothing else on the schedule.

Brunch

White House Tavern

Elevated comfort food in a historic Victorian house — the truffle grilled cheese is legendary, and it's the perfect final crew meal before departure.

Light activity

W Aspen Check-Out & Goodbyes

Low-intensity morning — crew checks out by noon, settles any charges, takes a final group photo in the W's lobby, and exchanges contact info.

Book all flights for 3 PM or later to avoid rushing checkout. The one SUV shuttle to ASE airport departs at 12:30 PM — coordinate pickup times based on flight schedules. The best man should collect any remaining group funds and settle the final Venmo round before people leave.

If Things Go Sideways

The contingency plan nobody writes until it’s too late — weather backup, late-arrival pickup, noise-complaint protocol. Keep it close.

Weather backup

If heli-ski conditions are unsafe on Day 3 (high winds, poor visibility), swap to a full day at Aspen Mountain Skiing with a private guide ($400 total). The guide will show the crew the best powder stashes and keep everyone together. Heli-ski can be rescheduled for Day 4 morning if weather clears, or the crew accepts the mountain day as the signature experience.

Late arrival plan

If one crew member lands after the Day 1 group dinner at Meat & Cheese (7:30 PM), leave a house key at the W Aspen front desk and drop the address in the group chat. They can grab food at CP Burger (post-ski smash burgers, open late) and meet the crew at The J-Bar by 10 PM. No FOMO — the first night is intentionally chill.

After You Land

Run through this the week after the trip — settle the Venmos, share the drive, send the thank-you drops, lock the highlight reel. Closure rituals are what turn a weekend into a memory.

  1. 1Drop all heli-ski photos and rooftop pool videos in a shared Google Photos album within 24 hours of departure — the footage is legendary and everyone will want copies.
  2. 2Settle the group Venmo / square up any outstanding splits within 3 days. The best man should send a final summary: 'Total spent: $X, your share: $Y, Venmo me by [date].'
  3. 3Send a thank-you text to anyone who traveled more than 6 hours (everyone in this case) — 'Thanks for making Maverick's last run unforgettable.'
  4. 4Send Maverick a short 'here's my favorite moment' text within 1 week — reference the roast, the heli-ski day, or the poker tournament. Make it personal.
  5. 5Post one group photo in the main friend group chat with the caption: 'Terminal Velocity: Maverick Edition. See you at the wedding.' Tag everyone.
  6. 6Create a Spotify playlist from the trip (rooftop pool DJ songs, Zac Brown Band, Kings of Leon, Post Malone) and share it with the crew — 'The Terminal Velocity Soundtrack.'
  7. 7If anyone has video of the roast, edit a 2–3 minute highlight reel and send it to Maverick privately — this is the core memory of the trip.

Budget Breakdown

Lodging (4 nights)$1,100
Heli-ski & premium activities$1,200
Dining (3 group dinners + breakfasts)$650
Nightlife & transport (bottle service, party bus, bar tabs)$700
Spa & miscellaneous$200
Per Person$3,850

Pack This

  • Bogner powder suit or high-end ski jacket and pants (Maverick will be in full Bogner — match his energy)
  • Thermal base layers (merino wool or synthetic — altitude and cold demand quality)
  • Ski boots and goggles (rent locally or bring your own)
  • Après-ski outfit: upscale casual for Bootsy Bellows (dark jeans, button-up, blazer optional)
  • Swimsuit and flip-flops (rooftop pool at W Aspen is heated)
  • Sunscreen and lip balm with SPF (altitude sun is intense — Maverick's obsession with powder means long days outside)
  • GoPro or action camera (heli-ski footage is legendary — capture everything)
  • Comfortable walking shoes (downtown Aspen is walkable, but streets are icy in February)
  • Sunglasses (UV protection at altitude is critical)
  • Toiletries and medications (Advil, Tums, Dramamine for helicopter ride, altitude sickness prevention)

Pro Tips

  • Maverick's obsession with heli-ski ops is the centerpiece — book the private charter 8 weeks in advance. February conditions are world-class, but availability fills fast.
  • Bogner powder suits are non-negotiable. Maverick will be in full Bogner gear — make sure the crew has quality base layers and outerwear. The photos will be legendary.
  • Clase Azul Reposado is Maverick's drink — stock the hotel mini-bar with a bottle before arrival. Have it waiting in the welcome kit.
  • Element 47 wagyu ribeye is his food obsession — request the wagyu board at Meat & Cheese and the wagyu-focused menu at Bosq. The chef will customize.
  • Zac Brown Band, Kings of Leon, and Post Malone are his go-to artists — request these on the rooftop pool DJ playlist. 'Chicken Fried' and 'Sex on Fire' are must-plays.
  • February weather in Aspen is extreme — expect temps between 0–25°F. Warn the crew to pack serious cold-weather gear. Layers are everything.
  • Altitude sickness is real at 8,000 ft — have the crew drink water constantly and avoid heavy drinking on Day 1. Electrolytes (Liquid IV) are essential.
  • Party bus is included for the final night (Day 4) — book it for 11:30 PM pickup at Bosq and 1:45 AM dropoff at the W. Nobody drives after bottle service.
  • The roast is the emotional core of the trip — make sure the best man has talking points ready 48 hours in advance. Record it on video.
  • Book all restaurants 3–4 weeks ahead. Aspen in February is peak season — Matsuhisa and Bosq fill up fast.

Group Logistics

Transport: One SUV shuttle from ASE airport to W Aspen on arrival (10 min, $80 total ÷ 8 = $10/person). Rideshare (Uber XL) for Day 1 dinner and J-Bar (2 rides, ~$30/person total). Party bus for Day 4 final night: 11:30 PM pickup at Bosq, 1:45 AM dropoff at W Aspen ($400 total ÷ 8 = $50/person). All other activities are hotel-based or arranged transport (heli-ski includes helicopter, dog-sledding includes snowcat). Departure day: one SUV shuttle to ASE airport (10 min, $80 total ÷ 8 = $10/person).

Nightlife Strategy: Two bottle-service nights at Bootsy Bellows Aspen (Day 2 and Day 4). VIP table for 8, bottle of Clase Azul, premium vodka, mixers. Arrive by 9:15 PM on Day 2 (post-Matsuhisa dinner), stay until midnight. Day 4: arrive by 11:45 PM (post-poker), stay until 2 AM. Dress code: upscale (no athletic wear). Tip the host $100 cash each night for the best table. Party bus pickup at 1:45 AM on Day 4 to return to the W safely. No cover charges — VIP table minimum is $500 per bottle, which is covered in the nightlife budget.
